How To Root Redmi 4A and Install TWRP

Redmi 4A is one of the cheapest and best seller device in Redmi Family, sold almost 1 Million Units till date, and today we are going to show you that How to Root Redmi 4A and install TWRP recovery on Redmi 4A device.




So before proceeding further, let’s talk a bit about what Redmi 4A offers, the Redmi 4A comes with 5 inch HD display 1280x720 Resolution, Snapdragon 425 Quad-Core Processor, 13 Megapixel Rear Camera 5 Megapixel Front facing camera, 16GB internal storage and 2GB of RAM, and also supports memory expansion using micro SD card, the redmi 4a has 3030 mAh Battery which can last for 1 and half day easily with the normal usage. Redmi 4a also supports dual sim and 4G VoLTE.


So now just dive deep to the topic which is how to Root Redmi 4A, so before Rooting Redmi 4A, you must have your bootloader unlocked for Redmi 4A, as Rooting is not supported on Locked Bootloader on Redmi 4A.

So I am assuming that your Redmi 4A has an unlocked bootloader, so just follow the steps below to first install TWRP Custom Recovery on Redmi 4A.

Download the Below Files on Your PC/Laptop to Root Redmi 4A Device, as Rooting to Redmi 4A Without PC is not possible as of now.

Requirements:-


Make sure that Developer options are enabled on your device, and USB debugging is also enabled, to enable the developer options go to Settings>> About Phone>> now Tap 7 times on MIUI Version and you will be able to see developer options is enabled, and now Move on to enable USB debugging on Redmi 4A, to do this just go to Settings>> Additional Settings>> Developer options>> Enable developer option and USB Debugging.

Now After downloading these files connect your device to the pc and copy the SuperSU File to the Redmi 4A internal storage.

Extract the ADB folder (Platform Tools Latest Windows) and you will get a Folder containing some files, just copy that folder to the C:\\ or Your PC, and also copy the twrp-3.1.0-0-20170318-UNOFFICIAL-rolex.img file inside the platform tools latest windows folder along with other files.   

  
Now Boot Your Redmi 4A into Fastboot Mode, first turn off your device and then press Volume Down+Power Button simultaneously for upto 6 seconds.

Now After booting into Fastboot Mode you need to connect your device to the PC and go to the Platform Tools Latest Windows Folder and you will be able to see some files and your TWRP file too.

Now press Shift Key + Right click on that adb folder, and you will be able to see an option called “Open Command Window here”, now click on Open Command window Here.

Now run this command to ensure that your redmi 4a has been detected by the system.
fastboot devices
Now Copy this command and paste it to the command windows to install TWRP on Redmi 4A, and press enter.
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-20170318-UNOFFICIAL-rolex.img
Now TWRP is installed on Your Redmi 4A, and it’s time to boot into TWRP Recovery Mode to Root Redmi 4A, now type or copy the below command and paste it on to the command windows and hit enter.


fastboot boot twrp-3.1.0-0-20170318-UNOFFICIAL-rolex.img

Now Your Device will boot into TWRP Recovery, and it will show you a warning like: swipe to allow modifications, just swipe it to allow.

Now Click on Install and select the Update-SuperSU.zip file and swipe to flash that file,
After that just clear the dalvik/cache and Reboot your redmi 4A.

Now if you want to ensure that wheather your Redmi 4A Rooted or Not, then Just Download the Root Checker app from Google Play Store, and Check the Root Access.
